We do NOT recommend that you enter a group of horses with a bucket even if its empty!  We are not held responsible for accidents, the horses are not held responsible for accidents. THE PERSON WITH THE BUCKET IS. There are pens provided that you can use to catch and feed your horse in a more controlled environment and sort off the other horses. Please call if you are needing any kind of help.

Heard Behavior

When new horses come in for horse boarding they are placed in a pen within the pasture so they can warm up to the other horses over the fence for a few days or as long as it takes. Typically, in a group of horses like this where horses are coming and going we have very little problem with horses being overly territorial. By keeping multiple feeders out there is less issues in the heard because there is plenty of room for them to spread out  and still eat when they want.

We will NOT attempt to manage the heard or the horse owners. And, we reserve to right to evict a problem horse or owner on a 2 week notice with or  without refund.

If a horse is noted to be a bully or overly aggressive that horse will have to leave as we can not risk increased injuries.   We expect horses to bite and kick each-other on a day to day basis in a normal fashion. We do NOT expect them to  keep others from the feed  or back another horse into a corner, beat up another horse, or RUN another horse. This behavior will cause a horse to be removed.

Human Behavoir

At CL horse boarding, we ask that you NEVER feed a horse that you don’t own; do not pour out feed to ‘share’. We have found that this is usually the problem when the horses develop aggressive behavior and accidents then happen. We are not held responsible for accidents, the horses are not held responsible for accidents. Again, THE PERSON WITH THE BUCKET IS. There is a pen provided that you can use to catch and feed your horse in a more controlled environment. Please remember that sharing food is NOT being sweet to all the horses. It causes everyone problems.  In most cases where things are going wrong,  people are the main problem, the horses get it sorted out on their own. Keep owning and riding a horse safe for everyone.

All horse boarding are required to have a negative coggins and current health at the time of arrival. We encourage vaccinations and worming. However, that is for the owner to decide. This type of horse boarding is like public school for horses so it is up to you to protect your horse however you see fit.

If we have a vet, farrier, dentist or other professional scheduled to come visit we will pass that on so you can take advantage of their services as well.

Storage: tack and trailer

At this time CL horse boarding does not have a place for you to store tack. However, we can accommodate some trailer parking. You are welcome to store your tack there at your own risk.

All horse boarding payments are due the 1st of the month and considered late after the 10th. Daily late fees apply.
